Most solar panels used with batteries are not operated at their peak output power, but are forced by the battery voltage to a lower-power output.  Genasun's MPPT electronic intelligence tracks the electrical maximum power point to improve the performance of solar battery-charging systems by 10-30%. During partial shading, gains can exceed 50%.
